Message number 044 of class B1 is used to display message "Incorrect function module & called up" and can be triggered using the following ABAP code:

DATA: lv_val1(100) TYPE C.
lv_val1 = '123'.

What causes this issue

The function module &v1&, which was called for the application input,
was not able to process the IDoc. A possible cause is that the IDoc haswrong message type or IDoc type.

How to fix

Please check the message type assignment for the application function
module in the ALE customizing.
