SAP SAPLFDBA_DOCUMENT_ITEM TR-LO: Item of Open Items List (List Tool) Table data and field list

How do I retrieve data from SAP structure SAPLFDBA_DOCUMENT_ITEM using ABAP code?

As SAPLFDBA_DOCUMENT_ITEM is a database structure and not a table it does not store any data in the SAP data dictionary. The ABAP SELECT statement is therefore not appropriate and can not be performed on SAPLFDBA_DOCUMENT_ITEM as there is no data to select.
