Note 214388 Details:

When does this problem occur

Work items of the type 'user decision' are displayed in the wrong

language. This problem only occurs for work items that implement a u

ser decision. Furthermore the decision options and the title of the user

decision are displayed in the wrong language.

Cause of the problem and Pre-requisites

The workflow runtime system generates work items and thus texts in a

certain language. The language is among other things determined b

y the initiator of the work flow. For work flows that generate work

items for users in different languages a problem occurs since the

texts (work item texts) are generated in the language of the workflow

initiator. There are two ways to solve the problem:

The company agrees on a company language e.g. English. As a result, all

work items are generated in English. Therefore, they do not ne

ed to be translated.

The users maintain the flag 'Display work items texts in logon language'
in their 'personal workflow settings'.

If the corresponding flag is set the work item texts are translated into

the logon language for the inbox selection. The system refers

to the task definition of the work items, reads the text in the logon

language, and generates the work item texts.

For user decisions this algorithm does not work since the work item

texts of the user decision are stored in the workflow definitions.

A selection of the corresponding texts from the workflow is not very

efficient. Use the procedure described in the solutions part of

this note.

Solution instructions

Create new tasks for the user decisions. Goto the corresponding workflow

definitions and copy the standard tasks from there. Then, mai

ntain the work item text of the task. In addition, implement the source

code corrections.
